This week sees the end of analogue TV in the UK, and with it goes Ceefax. BBC News Magazine has a delightful video taking us on a trip down memory lane including clips of old BBC idents and continuity announcements “cheesy music and all”…
Looking round YouTube, I also found a news item from 1972 introducing the “new BBC project” from the BBC research centre. The interview includes the question: “We’ve heard a lot from science fiction people about the days when you’ll be able to do your shopping and all your library work at home with television sets at home. Is this the start of that sort of development?”
