We hope you can join us for two new events for Social Media Week, London. They’re both free and held at the beautiful Gateley offices at 1 Paternoster Square, within touching distance of St Paul’s Cathedral.
The good, the bad and the ugly
6.30pm Monday 24 September 2012
Gateley LLP, 1 Paternoster Square, London EC4M 7DX

This event explores best practice when it comes to engaging online audiences for TV and radio programmes. It covers dealing with the good and the bad – from using fan networks to promote activity to neutralising trolls and dealing with negative feedback. We also look at the best ways to monitor all the available data around your programme and at the potential value of your social TV/radio audience in relation to the existing TV measurement structure (BARB/RAJAR).
Speakers:
Tayler Cresswell, Editorial Director, Liberty842
David Ellis, Director and Measurement Analyst, Station 10
Lisa Logan, Media Partner, Gateley LLP

Are you decent? Social media etiquette and the law
6.30pm Tuesday 25 September 2012
Gateley LLP, 1 Paternoster Square, London EC4M 7DX
This event explores the issues around social media etiquette, trolling and the law. There have been some gobsmacking foot-in-mouth moments that have seen members of the public landed in jail, and others having to deal with some pretty nasty taunts. We’ve also seen the celebratory and fantastic response to the Olympians and Paralympians who have inspired just about everyone as well as enjoying (for the most part) a direct relationship with fans on Twitter. From celebs to school kids, it’s time the issues surrounding social media etiquette were addressed. We will look at what guidance there is for young people to help them deal with social media in terms of their personal and professional development.
Speakers:
Tiffany St James, Strategist and Speaker, Stimulation Ltd
Tayler Cresswell, Editorial Director, Liberty842
Lisa Logan, Media Partner, Gateley LLP
More speakers to be announced.
